After 18 years of operations experience at one of the nation’s leading HR and payroll development companies, Kayling saw an opportunity to help families across the country gain better control of their finances by combining emerging technology with the practical payroll solution of on-demand earnings. Seeing the potential of this solution, she created Tapcheck with her husband, Ron. With her deep operational experience and extensive industry knowledge, Kayling guides Tapcheck’s day-to-day operations and inspires her team to continually seek out innovative solutions for employers and employees across the country.

A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, Ron spent 14 years running his own real estate development company before launching Tapcheck with his wife, Kayling. During his career as a developer, he displayed a unique ability to identify a project’s potential and implement strategic changes to create additional value, a skill that serves him well in his role at Tapcheck. Ron’s leadership and experience provide a stabilizing force that secures the company’s current operations while positioning it for continued growth.

Before joining the Tapcheck team, Bowen earned a Master’s Degree in Integrated Design with a business and technology focus and spent five years designing software for financial and technology companies such as Union Bank, Cisco, Sony, and Intel. In each of those roles, he developed solutions to optimize financial operations and inventory management processes. Along with an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, Michael brings a strong technology and finance background to his role at Tapcheck. Solange Charas, Ph.D.

Widely considered a subject matter expert in the Human Capital field, Dr. Charas has more than 30 years of experience as a Human Capital Consultant for firms like EY, Arthur Andersen, Towers Perrin, and the Hay Group. She has also served as Chief Human Capital Officer at EuroRSCG (a division of Havas), Benfield (now part of Aon), and Praetorian Financial Services (now part of QBE). A Distinguished Principal Research Fellow for The Conference Board, she regularly researches the impact of human capital. As a public and private company Board Director, Dr. Charas routinely addresses the critical issues of Human Capital as an ESG issue. Dr. Charas is also an Adjunct Professor in the Masters of HR programs at Columbia, NYU, and USC. In this role, she prepares students to respond to and shape the future of the profession by teaching HR Analytics, Finance for Effective Human Capital Management, and Transforming Total Rewards. She is also an entrepreneur (Char\as Consulting and HCMoneyball) who possesses a firsthand understanding of the challenges involved with starting and running organizations. She brings more than a decade of HR experience to her role, having worked as a Human Resources Consultant based in Houston, Texas, where she served multiple clients in the technology, real estate, and construction industries. Driven by a belief that business growth and success are the results of a well-functioning workforce, Selina oversees a wide array of HR-related activities, ranging from organizational design and strategic personnel initiatives to employee recruitment, engagement, and relations.
